Mulligan, Timothy
Tim Mulligan started the Public Policy program in Fall of 2011 and is expected to graduate in the Spring of 2013. His policy interests are in Green energy policy, urban development and international development policy, social policy and in issues of ethnic conflict. Tim is a Graduate Research Assistant for Dr. Sinem Korkmaz in the Design and Construction Department by way of the Institute for Public Policy and Social Research. There Tim does work pertaining to what kinds of policies incentivize developers and owners to build more energy efficient, or Green, buildings. Tim is the Vice-President of the MSU Public Policy Graduate Student Association.
Before attending MSU, Tim Graduated from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. There Tim majored in Political Science and Peace and Conflict Studies. Tim’s senior year he attended a workshop in Dubrovnik, Croatia on social research in divided societies. Tim attended Wayne State on athletic scholarship for Men’s Div. 1 Varsity Fencing. Tim was elected Men’s team captain at the end of his sophomore year and served in that position for two years, until graduation.
Tim was born in Traverse City, MI the son of Daniel Mulligan and Colleen Tennant. He has one brother, Cavan. Tim spent most of his life moving around Michigan however eventually attended Concord High School in Concord, MI where he graduated. Outside class, Tim has competed in Regional, National, and NCAA fencing tournaments in the foil event.
